AS THE SINGLE version of 'Won't Get Fooled Again' and Who's Next prepared the way for them, The Who swept halfway across the country in a grueling midsummer swath that saw them playing 18 dates in 20 days, drawing a record crowd at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on the fourth night of the tour. The open air concerts scheduled along the way were consistently packed with some of the largest crowds The Who had ever faced in America, but the indoor shows, booked into the best sounding medium sized halls available, were the natural setting for the most exciting moments of the tour.
