There's something about Mary Black

David Burke, R2/Rock'n'Reel, March 2009

MARY BLACK wouldn't class herself as a dreamer, even though she's realised a few dreams others of us have maybe harboured. Playing London's Royal Albert Hall was one. Not bad for a girl from inner-city Dublin. Reaching the top of the Irish album chart and staying there for five weeks with Twenty-Five Years – Twenty-Five Songs, a career retrospective covering the years from 1983 to 2008, was another.
