FORMER DOGS, currant diamonds, the Thompsons are the last of their class to turn from frogs to princes. Former darlings of student halls, the Twins are now disco delights. The old Thompsons were a "communal" band that rather disapproved of style, the new are determinedly and belatedly trendy.
