William Bell: Do Right Man (Charly)

Barney Hoskyns, New Musical Express, 11 August 1984

‘YOU DON'T Miss Your Water’ was only the fifth single on Stax. That was 1961, and pipe-smoking William Bell was there not only to see Otis Redding cut the song five years later but to see the whole Stax operation crash into bankruptcy in 1975.

Total word count of piece: 362
