Buddy Guy, Blues Singer
Ted Drozdowski, Guitar World Acoustic, June 2003
"WHEN I FIRST heard of the electric guitar, I thought somebody was bullshittin' me," says George "Buddy" Guy. "We lived so far in the country I didn't even know what an acoustic was until my mother started getting mail order catalogs. Then a pair of acoustic guitar players - a son and daddy, Jim and Henry Smith - started coming through every Christmas. We didn't have electricity or even running water, so that was the only music we would hear all year."
