Cyndi Lauper: The Bop Don't Stop
Gavin Martin, NME, 1 November 1986
THE BIG BOPPER was a huge slobbering lech, bursting out of his suit drooling ungodly lust. Squeezed into a phone booth he called Chantilly Lace, a vision of pony tailed purity; he sweated, twitched and leered as he begged her for a date. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't get no satisfaction, driven to distraction at the end of his record he reached bursting point howling "you know what I like/Baby YOU KNOW."
