Dodgy
Johnny Black, MOJO, August 1995
DODGY'S PRECOCIOUS QUOTABILITY, from the early "Rock'n'roll's been making love to the world for 40 years we're the band to make it come" to the recent "If we had come before The Beatles, they would have been compared to us it just happens that the bastards got there first", is almost as memorable as their sturdy pop. So the lack of sparkle when I ran them to earth in North London's Playground Rehearsal facility was disappointing. They were polite, businesslike, sensible and, apparently, shagged out.
