Dorsey Burnette
Martin Hawkins, Country Music People, November 1979
DORSEY BURNETTE was never a star, although he did make dents in the American Top Forty as well as the country charts, but his contribution to country music both as a singer and as a composer was far from inconsiderable. Certainly, his death from a heart attack on 19th August should not go unmentioned. He had been found dead on arrival at hospital from his home in Canoga Park, California, after he had complained of chest pains. He was 46.
