FIRST NIGHT a club the size of a bootbox, tiny lung cancerous place by the side of the river (backstage's the top step of an iron fire-escape), next's a Camden Palacey affair, packed with college kids (though not smart enough to toss dreadful opening act American Toys off the stage) on a bus-ride cross-country to join the Whitesnake tour. As it says on the liner-notes, rock 'n' roll is a trip, not a destination.
