BEFORE HE WAS 21 Jimmy Webb had already written some of pop's most enduring songs, including 'By The Time I Get To Phoenix' (which Frank Sinatra pronounced "the greatest torch song ever written" and which is the third most performed song of the past half century), and 'Up, Up and Away' which was a hit for The Fifth Dimension.
