SINGER-HARMONICA player Marion Walter Jacobs, 37, professionally known as Little Waller, under which name he made a large number of important late 1940s and '50s recordings that completely revolutionized the role of the harmonica in the blues and added a new tonal dimension to the genre, died at his home in Chicago Feb. 15, 1968, apparently of unsuspected injuries sustained in a fight earlier that day.
