Modern Lovers: Modern Lovers Live
Ira Robbins, Trouser Press, April 1978
AS A RESULT of a fairly ridiculous chain of events, the Home of the Hits has relocated (at least for the time being) from Berkeley, California to Kingston-upon-Thames, England. The hottest little label in America has managed to find itself without a distribution arrangement here, but that hasnt topped headkeeper Matthew King Kaufman from plowing ahead with is 10-year master plan to paint the universe yellow and black. Not only has he signed the labels first British band (the Tyla Gang), but the linch-pin of his roster, Jon Richman, has been inveigled into recording and releasing a live memento of his September British tour.
