BY THE TIME the 1980s were just a few years old, the goodtime sounds of the pub rock movement had pretty much fallen out of favour, discarded like so much ale-soaked sawdust on a taproom floor. Many of its prime movers had all but disappeared from public view, though some continued to plug away in front of ever-diminishing audiences.
