NOW IN their 30s, this band are no longer quite so youthful as when they formed 11 years ago in New York, yet they remain unquestionably sonic. The band emerged from No Wave, the post-punk clique of mostly guitarists inspired by The Velvet Underground and even more obscure '60s avant-gardists for their experiments in studied musical dissonance.
