Steely Dan: Gaucho
Andy Gill, NME, 22 November 1980
THE COVER to this, the seventh Steely Dan album (discounting the Greatest Hits compilation), features a painting or anaglyph of a dancing couple of presumably latin derivation. It's charged with a kind of flamboyant, ritualized melodrama (a touch of macho in the hands?), and it fits the title well.
