The Flaming Lips: What's Next

THE FLAMING Lips have begun recording the follow-up to 2002’s Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, provisionally titled At War With the Mystics, with Dave Fridmann at the helm once again, at his Tarbox studios in Fredonia, N.Y. So far the Oklahoma City art insurrectionists have tapped the equally strange Cat Power to guest on a track but have only finished recording two tracks: 'Space Bible' and 'Mr. Ambulance Driver' (a song that is definitely not a follow-up to the Lips’ 'Priest Driven Ambulance'). The disc is reportedly scheduled for a fall 2005 release.
