ONCE UPON A TIME, the Who was a guiding force in the life of many people (myself included). The wisdom of Chairman Pete Townshend, as communicated via his songs and interviews, comforted many a confused adolescent with understanding and sympathy. That the Who is now just another superstar rock band is hard to swallow, but nothing lasts forever.
