Tom Paxton Talks

uncredited writer, Beat Instrumental, July 1970

THERE can be few artists who have made such a lasting impact on the contemporary music scene as Tom Paxton. Inspired originally by such hard traveling folkies as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton first came into prominence in the States about nine years ago, at the time of the ‘Folk Boom’, and while other folk artists have faded into obscurity, or have moved to the richer pastures of rock, Tom has remained faithful to his roots and continued to write and sing folk songs of the highest order.
