Alan Vega
Chris Campion, Dazed & Confused, July 2002
IT'S TAKEN 30 years for Alan Vega to make the transition from surly street punk and art world agitator to New York institution. Better known as one half (with Martin Rev) of electronic dirge duo Suicide, Vega, aka Alan Suicide, is also a visual artist in his own right. Collision Drive, a recent exhibition at New York's Deitch Projects gallery, featured recreations of the light and wire sculptures he was building back in the early '70s.
