After 32 years together The Beach Boys are one of the longest-lived bands in rock. They've recently performed a string of stadium dates, and Capitol release a definitive six-CD 'Best Of' collection this month. But the story of the band is also the story of Brian Wilson: his exile under the influence of psychotherapist Eugene Landy; the continuing legal battles and his long-awaited second solo album. According to some supporters, friends and insiders, Brian Wilson is about to enter a new phase of his career. Or is it all just sandcastles in the air? First we talk to producer Don Was, the man who would seem to be Brian's new recording buddy....
