Counting Crows — Adam Duritz interviewed
Sylvie Simmons, Rolling Stone, 1995
BACKSTAGE AT the Shepherd's Bush Empire, Adam Duritz is opening a gift from a fan. Coasters. Normal ones, the sort you'd buy your dad for Father's Day. He examines them as if looking for a secret message. A letter drops out. "She wants a photo", he says mournfully. "They all do." Outside on the street, a tout is telling a young American woman that she'll need far more than £40 if she wants to get in.
