Detroit: Detroit

Lenny Kaye, Rolling Stone, 9 December 1971

HAVE NO FEAR. Mitch Ryder is back. and for those whose last recollection of him centers around a grotesquely Las Vegas type of showboat soul revue, know well that he's now gathered about him the kind of religioso rockers that the Motor City is famous for, called them (not unexpectedly) Detroit, and put out a "debut" album that should go far toward reestablishing his reputation as one of the primal blue-eyed shouters of our time.
