BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: The sheer pageantry of Elton John's Stars and Stripes bicentennial show here on Independence Day had the power alone to earn a standing ovation but, thank God, amid the pyrotechnics, Elton, as he could so easily have done, did not lose sight of the music.
