LOS ANGELES — The four Eagles — Bernie Leadon, Glenn Frey, Randy Meisner and Don Henley — had barely been introduced to each other when expectant-ever-hopeful LA scenemakers began predicting Big Things for the group: fat royalty checks, sell-out tours and beautiful groupies. After all, David Geffen was involved, as manager and head of the Eagles' label, Asylum Records, the home of Joni Mitchell and Judee Sill and Jackson Browne.
