Jimmy Cliff, wholesome and handsome as a ripening ear of corn, radiates on the couch. The night before, he had made a triumphant return to Britain, triumphant, but largely un-noticed by the new generation of reggae fans who revere him only in his role as Ivan, hero of The Harder They Come, Perry Henzell's Jamaican film whose classic soundtrack album featured some of Cliff's finest songs.
