IN THE MUSIC biz, even on the chic Bowery, many a band are slain in the taking. An attempt on the life of one band was fortunately foiled recently upon receipt of a new drummer and a new bass player. This band whose name recalls negative childhood memories is MUMPS, whose music, ironically promotes positive mirthful childhood dreams.
