Ramones: Subterranean Jungle
Cynthia Rose, NME, 2 April 1983
THE RAMONES have been responsible for two truly great albums (Ramones and Rocket to Russia) and they've yet to produce a single longplayer that couldn't plant a conceptual uppercut on 99.9% of its contemporary competition. Subterranean Jungle is their third masterpiece: a record which redefines words like 'thrilling', 'redemptive' and 'direct' in a way that bursts forth from three dimensions into SHEER MUSICAL EXPRESSION as only a band this accomplished, intelligent and experienced could do.
