Denny Cordell: The Cordial Englishman

Martin Hayman, Sounds, 8 June 1974

DENNY CORDELL is not at all like my image of him. Well in fact, I didn't know what to expect but he was not like what I didn't expect... a very English Englishmen I thought. Vaguely, with his Moody Blues connections and the made-in-LA reputation I had imagined he would be a jumped-up Brummy lad, with a lot of mouth and very sharp. A second-hand car dealer with a lot to live down and no great enthusiasm for being probed on how he got to where he got. A good story, as we say in the trade.
