Eddie Money: Life For The Taking
David Hepworth, Sounds, 3 February 1979
THE FIRST Eddie Money album was the more or less happy outcome of moderate talent breaking bread with the neat idea and contriving solid formula, the moderate talent being the man's Paul Rodgers' inclined vocalising and the neat idea a muted heavy metal production courtesy of Bruce Botnik. The resulting formula chased Boston and their axe-energised synthetic on to American FM car radios and satisfactorily accompanied many a torrid zip twisting session of premature ejaculation in the rear seats of Chevvys all over the Promised Land. So far, so sufficient.
