IT WAS one of those nights. "Poor old Dan," wailed Dan Stuart, leading the new-look Green On Red into waters apparently uncharted by much rehearsal. Drummer Brad Newman, for instance, had only been on the payroll for four days, not time enough to have had his incongruous pork-pie hat removed by missile-throwing fans. It has to happen, though. Later, Stuart was to be frustrated by breaking strings and niggling sound problems.
