Hawkwind: Hall Of The Mountain Grill (United Artists)

Ira Robbins, Zoo World, 19 December 1974

FOR THEIR first four albums, public approval of Hawkwind was in direct proportion to how seriously one considered the music. The question of quality or talent never entered the discussion – one either accepted Hawkwind as the best producers of aesthetic noise anywhere, or took the popular route of comparing a Hawkwind concert to the sound of a rocket blasting off. Another simplistic dismissal involved the size of Miss Stacia's boobs.
