Jane's Addiction, Under Neath What?: Brixton Academy, London

Edwin Pouncey, New Musical Express, 1 October 1988

GOTH NIGHT in South London has brought out all the silly cowboy hats, floppy bandanas and Wayne Hussey lookalikes in full force. The crowds of patchouli-oiled punters have gathered together to prostrate themselves before (Fields Of) The Nephilim, the latest golden calf in this curious, slightly perverse, rock n' roll religion. As an unbeliever my assignment is to observe and report on the evening's other star attraction Jane's Addiction... but what is this before me?
