Marine Girls: Lazy Ways (Cherry Red)

Mick Sinclair, Sounds, 26 March 1983

RISKING ACCUSATIONS of unseemly drooling, I'll simply state that I actually feel quite close to the Marine Girls. I don't wish to boast but I was the first person to write about them in a national paper (I could adopt the archetype cynical reviewers stance here — 45 degree angle against the bar, drink in one hand, other placed nonchalantly upon hip, orally spouting: "They used to be good back in the daze (sic) when...") and, quite coincidentally they come from the town I was born in. Verily, the girls next door.
