SINGER RANDY Crawford — as rightfully celebrated and well-known in Europe as she is not in her native United States — sounds like Gladys Knight, but where Knight sometimes travels more deeply inside herself, exploring the bluesy interior of her fertile claustrophobic throb, Crawford will steal outside, sneaking up on a light jazziness that's tougher and less erratic than, say, Chaka Khan's.
