Springsteen fever

AT THE Music Hall in Boston in late May, Bruce Springsteen begins a song in almost total darkness, a single blue spotlight faintly limning the singer during the quiet opening minutes of 'Thunder Road'. It's a magic moment, avoiding pretentiousness only because it works.
