The Doobie Brothers: The Captain And Me (Warners K46217); What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits (K56026)
Jonathan Morrish, Let It Rock, May 1974
ALTHOUGH NOT many people had heard of the Doobie Brothers before they came here in early February, they still received what was very much superstar treatment. They had already had two smash singles in America and with the non-arrival of the Allmans, everyone was ready to enjoy the first visit of a new band; they were in a strange situation, unknown on one side of the Atlantic but highly popular on the other and so when they arrived in this country, they were given full scale coverage in both the rock press and television; almost a case of heroes being needed.
