The Emotions: Sunbeam (Columbia)

Ariel Swartley, Rolling Stone, 19 October 1978

THE EMOTIONS don't just sing on Sunbeam — they bounce. They'll spring back from a note as soon as they land on it, giving it a little spin as they leave. And they keep doing this, one sister after another, until a song's full of these tiny, bouncing, bubbly notes all going plop plop, fizz fizz. I mean, their singings so good it's almost medicinal.
