The O'Jays: Loving the Music with Gamble & Huff

LOS ANGELES — Walking by what used to be a restaurant at the Beverly Comstock Hotel in Beverly Hills, one wonders why they keep playing the O'Jays' 'I Love Music'. There is a special reason: inside, the three O'Jays — Eddie Levert, Walter Williams and William Powell — are learning dance steps with Cholly Atkins, one of soul music's top choreographers. Stepping and swirling around the three Coke cans that serve as mock microphone stands, they use the room's mirrored walls as a backdrop for their rehearsals.
