"THE BAND used to always try to smell the clothes before I put them on," says Time leader Morris Day, talking about how he first put his zoot-suited look together by shopping at Minneapolis thrift stores. Nowadays, Morris lives in a California beachfront condo and gets his reet pleat-and-gone wardrobe tailor-made.
