IT WAS ONLY A matter of time before the new wave explosion brought forth a performer like Tom Robinson, articulate enough to put into coherent political perspective the feelings of frustration and disillusionment catalysed by groups like the Sex Pistols. Robinson has risen swiftly to prominence largely on the strength of a hit single '2-4-6-8 Motorway', a straightforward celebration of life on the road set to an irresistibly exuberant rock melody.
