Weather Report: City Hall, Newcastle

Phil Sutcliffe, Sounds, 14 October 1978

IF YOU spent an evening in the company of some guys and the only word they uttered was 'Goodbye' you might well think they were a little on the aloof side. As far as I can gather that's what Weather Report do to every audience and it's not exactly a come-on. Worse, last time they played the City Hall their music matched their manner. It was as frustrating as a packed deep freeze to a starving man; it's full of goodies but if he takes a bite he doesn't get nourishment, he gets a broken jaw.
