Ethlie Ann Vare

Ethlie Ann Vare (pictured with drummer husband Barry Charles Vare) began her rock-writing career in 1978 at Nevada City's local paper The Mountain Messenger. She later became the editor of L.A.'s ROCK magazine, a talent correspondent for Billboard, a U.S. correspondent for Australia's Countdown and a rock'n'roll TV presenter from the mid'80s to the mid-'90s. Her newspaper column "Rock On" was widely circulated in the U.S.
