Carly Simon

James Hunter, Music & Sound Output, January 1984

CARLY SIMON talks a relaxed, slyly attentive kind of talk, zeroing in on a particular point as instinctively as she watches evasive moods and emotions in her songwriting and then snares them with her deft singing. She laughs a lot, too, a regular kind of unforced, everyday laugh. It makes sense for someone whose pop intuitions have always been as quick, if not as showy, as Elton John's.
