IN THE CAR travelling back to London, Eno was making some excuses. The acoustics of the hall were terrible, he said, and the heat put everything out of tune. "It sounded awful from where I was standing. I kept wishing I was somewhere else. A pity really 'cos I'd begun to think we'd hit a winning streak. The last three nights were fine."
