BEFORE HE EMERGED as a pioneering figure of electronic music in the 1980s, Thomas Dolby wrote Lene Lovich's single, 'New Toy', appeared on the Thompson Twins' Set album and played the atmospheric synthesiser on Foreigner's multi-million-selling power ballad, 'Waiting for a Girl Like You' – all of which helped to bankroll his debut album, The Golden Age of Wireless, which spawned his best-known hit, 'She Blinded Me With Science'.
