LCD Soundsystem: Sound of Silver

David Stubbs, The Wire, March 2007

THE LYRIC to the title track of LCD Soundsystem's latest album is more of a mantra: "The sound of silver/Makes you want to be a teenager/Until you remember the feelings of a real life emotional teenager/Then you think again." As with so much of Sound of Silver, it's a hyper-vigilant, hyper-technoactive reflection on the passing of pop time, on the there and the then in the context of the here and the now.
