Obituary, Napalm Death: Astoria, London

Neil Perry, Melody Maker, 16 May 1992

LIVE EXCITEMENT this constant, this direct, this feral is the stuff of legend. Napalm Death were, are, frigging superb, and there's no other way to tell it. Tonight they were riveting, playing what they mean and meaning what they play; tonight was the first time for way too long that I've seen a band so completely devoid of anything — no pose, no mask, no hype, no rock'n'roll nonsense — except the need to entertain and communicate.
