Tempo: Slim Harpo Talks To Jim Delehant

Jim Delehant, Hit Parader, June 1969

When I was 18, I took a job as a longshoreman on the river front in New Orleans and after I worked there for a while I came back and took a job as a contractor. During that time I was still playing music. In fact, I started playing music when I was very young at picnics and house parties.
