Nico: The Girl With The Faraway Eyes
Clinton Walker, Age, The, 21 February 1986
THERE IS PERHAPS no world quite so cruel as rock and roll, where youth is everything, and with age comes not maturity but redundancy. Unless you are a living legend on the scale of Lou Reed or Bob Dylan, you are a has-been, and will have to suffer all the mechanical indignity of a struggling newcomer. As Renee Geyer said in this column just last week: "I don't think it is right for a lady of my age to be traipsing around men's urinals, swearing at roadies".
