Chris Roberts
Chris Roberts was born in North Wales and lives in West London. He has written about music, films and books for a plethora of titles including Melody Maker, NME, Sounds, Elle, Ikon, The Guardian, The Telegraph, London Lite and Uncut. He was also the editor of Idle Worship (Harper Collins), a collection of writings about the thrill of stardom by the well-known (Bono, Nick Hornby, Thurston Moore, etc) that was hailed in The New York Times as "the most original book about rock n roll ever". Regularly appearing on TV and radio, hes also published books on Lou Reed, Abba, Fugees, Tom Jones, Scarlett Johansson and Heath Ledger. His own, self-produced albums under the names Catwalk and Scalaland (on, respectively, Dedicated and Mother Records) provoked revealing reactions and featured guest musicians like Kim Deal and Tanya Donelly. His poems accompanied Ellen-Ane Eggens photography exhibitions in Oslo and Brussels, and short stories "Crashing" and "The Cake" appeared in L.A. publication Black Clock (edited by Steve Erickson) alongside Don De Lillo, Rick Moody and Jonathan Lethem. He scored the short film Dark Windows and is currently collaborating on several albums under a variety of aliases. List of articles in the library by artist ABC : Martin Fry: When Martin Sings...
